GUWAHATI: “I will attend Filmfare Awards Ceremony If I get invitation,” said popular singer Zubeen Garg.
Amid controversy over a section of artistes from Assam boycotting Filmfare Awards Ceremony to be held in Guwahati on February 15, Zubeen Garg has extended his support for hosting such kind of event in the state.
“Our agitation will go on. It is against the Citizenship Amendment Act, not against Filmfare or sports. We cannot boycott music and sports. It will cost us. We cannot boycott economy and cultural exchanges,” Garg clarified his stand.
Earlier, a section of Assamese artistes and intellectuals announced their decision to boycott Filmfare Awards Ceremony citing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
