GUWAHATI: Former Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi thanked health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for visiting him at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Sunday. Gogoi is being treated at the GMCH after he had tested positive for COVID-19 on August 26.
“I am gradually recovering at Guwahati Medical College Hospital. I am thankful to Health Minister Dr H B Sharma for visiting me yesterday. My sincere thanks to all for their good wishes for my Speedy recovery,” the former chief minister tweeted.

On Sunday, wearing personal protection equipment (PPE) kit, Dr. Sarma visited the unit at the GMCH where Gogoi is recuperating.
“Today I visited former chief minister Tarun Gogoi. He is quite well now and recovering,” said Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
