‘I am alive:’ Poonam Pandey says in new Instagram video, death news to spread awareness about Cervical Cancer

Actor-model Poonam Pandey, whose manager claimed that she was dead on Friday, shocked netizens as she shared a video on Instagram announcing that she is alive. “I’m alive. I didn’t die of cervical cancer.”

Poonam Pandey posted a new video on Instagram stating that she is alive and that the death news was just an antic to spread awareness about cervical cancer.

Sharing the video on Instagram, Pandey wrote on Instagram, “I feel compelled to share something significant with you all – I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease. Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable.”

She added, “The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease. Let’s empower one another with critical awareness and ensure every woman is informed about the steps to take. Visit the link in the bio to delve deeper into what can be done. Together, let’s strive to put an end to the devastating impact of the disease and bring #DeathToCervicalCancer.”

Everyone was left shocked on Friday when the official Instagram account of the actor announced her death news. The statement read, “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”

Soon after the news, condolence messages started pouring in from her industry colleagues. Many internet users were sceptical about the death news and guessed it to be some campaign for cervical cancer awareness or some other PR stunt.

Born in Kanpur, Poonam initially gained fame when she promised to strip naked if the Indian cricket team won the 2011 Cricket World Cup. While she didn’t follow through with the promise, it garnered her significant media attention.

Poonam’s acting career started in 2013 with the controversial film ‘Nasha’ which was an erotic thriller.
