GUWAHATI: The Assam health department will release the Standard Operating Procedure for opening of educational institutions in the state. Talking to reporters in Guwahati, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said that the department has to abide by the health department’s SOP.

Also, the education minister informed that there is no issue of availability of seats for the new admissions in the first year. Baring a few institutions where most of the students want to get enrolled post matriculation, the admission process will not get affected in rest of the institutions, said the minister. The Assam education department is thinking of conducting the classes in two shifts — morning and afternoon.

The government has also allowed many private schools like Jatiya Bidyalay and Sankardev Sishu Niketan to start classes from eleventh standard said Ranoj Pegu.
