HOME MINISTER AMIT SHAH TO VISIT ASSAM ON THURSDAY

Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Assam once again on February 25. 

The Union Minister will visit Batadrava Than in Nagaon, the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardev and will lay the foundation of  Batadrava Than.

Shah besides seeking blessings at the most revered place in the state will also start a state-funded Rs 150-crore project for the beatification of the Batadraba Than that was built by the saint in 1468.

In addition, the Minister will address the people of Batadrava at a public meeting to be held on February 25. 

It is to be noted that the construction of Batadrava Than in memory of Srimanta Sankardev will be initiated as part of a plan to build it as a field of religious and spiritual research.

Expressing happiness over the arrival of Home Minister Amit Shah in Batadrava, the Batadrava Than Management Committee termed it as a historic event.

Earlier on February 11 and  January 23, Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid visits to Assam.
