Himanta Biswa Sarma visits Ugratara Devalaya in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: On the occasion of Assamese new year and the Rongali Bihu festival on Thursday, NEDA convenor and Assam multi-portfolio minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Ugratara Devalaya in Guwahati.

“On the auspicious #NewYear & #Bihu I feel blessed to have paid my obeisance to The Goddess at the Ugratara Devalaya today, the pious Shakti shrine in Guwahati. May Maa’s eternal blessings continue to guide us for happiness & good health for all,” he said in a tweet.

The minister also took his second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at the GMCH in the city today.

“I took the first dose of vaccine six weeks before (March 1). Today I have taken the second dose of Covishield,” said Sarma.

He stated that Assam government has arranged 100 per cent testing at airports and railway stations in the state.

“If we can test well at airports and railway stations, then COVID situation will remain under control,” he added.
