Himanta Biswa Sarma visits Martyr Dilip Kumar Das’s family at Sarupeta

GUWAHATI: Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday met family members of CRPF inspector Dilip Kumar Das who made supreme sacrifice in the Maoist attack at Bijapur in Chhatisgarh.

The minister offered his condolences to the bereaved family members at their residence at Sarupeta in Barpeta district. He was accompanied by Lok Sabha MP Pallab Lochan Das and Assam state BJP vice-president Pulok Gohain.

Earlier in the day, the minister also visited family members of Bablu Rabha, another CRPF jawan from Assam who was killed in the same attack. Sarma offered his condolences to the family members of Rabha at their Dudhnoi residence in Goalpara district.

In one of the deadliest Maoist attacks on the security forces, at least 22 CRPF men lost their lives in Chhattisgarh‘s Bijapur Naxal attack on April 3.
