Himanta Biswa Sarma urges train passengers to keep mobile phones on

GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has urged the train passengers coming to Assam to keep their mobile phones on so that the authorities can make necessary arrangements according to their destinations. Dr. Sarma said that health department has contacted the passengers travelling in the Delhi-Dibrugarh special train based on the list provided by the Indian Railways.

“I request the passengers to keep their mobile phones on so that we can know their destinations well,” said Dr. Sarma said.

He stated that the respective deputy commissioners (DC) have been informed about the number of passengers coming by the Dibrugarh-bound special train. Among them 4 passengers are from Biswanath 13 from Charaideo, 11 from Dhemaji, 76 from Dibrugarh, 4 from Jorhat, 8 from Lakhimpur, 83 from Tinsukia, 2 from Sivasagar and 22 from neighbouring states. 

The passengers will be taken away for quarantine by the respective district administration.

Dr. Sarma also said that another train carrying passengers from Chennai has started its journey on Wednesday.
