Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurates Bhuyan Patty Bridge in Nagaon

GUWAHATI: After a long wait of more than three decades, the Bhuyan Patty Bridge in Nagaon has been finally inaugurated. Health, finance and public works department (PWD) minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the bridge on Friday. The foundation stone of the bridge was laid in 1988.

“The foundation stone of the bridge was laid on 14/10/1988. Over these years, the young boys become grandfathers, daughters-in-laws turned into mothers-in-laws. It has been completed now because of MLA Rupak Sarma,” Dr. Sarma said.

The bridge has been built under the Town Infrastructure Development Fund 2019-20.  

Sarma also laid the foundation stone of drain construction from Dhing Gate Flyover on State Highway-47 to Sonai River.

On the other, minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended 125th anniversary programme of Nagaon Natya Samiti and Durga Puja celebration at Amolapatti.

He was accompanied by minister of state for health and family welfare Pijush Hazarika and Nagaon MLA Rupak Sarma.
