GUWAHATI, Oct 16: NEDA Convenor and Assam Finance, Health and PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Wednesday dared the Congress party to oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in November and December when it is likely to be tabled in Parliament again.

Sarma said this while addressing a slew of election rallies in Ratabari constituency that goes to by-polls on Oct 21 adding that the BJP will give Hindu refugees their “due rights”.

“Last time, the citizenship bill could not be passed following opposition from Congress party. I dare Congress to oppose it this time. The Congress might not support Hindu refugees but I want to assure you that the BJP will stand with Hindu refugees and give them what they deserve in Nov-Dec this year,” he said.
