Helping the needy: Assam Govt employees can share their stories online

GUWAHATI: Besides donating one-day salary to Assam Arogya Nidhi, many Assam Government employees have responded to the appeal of health and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma to help the disadvantaged amid COVID19 lockdown. Many government employees have come forward to provide food and other essentials to the poor and needy families who have been facing difficulties in their livelihood.

The government employees can share their stories online without disclosing the identity of the beneficiaries. They can share their stories on two websites of the Government of Assam— assamcares.in or finassam.in.

Taking to Twitter Assam health and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Happy that State Govt employees voluntarily agreed to contribute 1-day salary to Assam Arogya Nidhi. Many also responded to our call to help the disadvantaged. May share these stories without disclosing beneficiaries’ identity on http://assamcares.in or http://finassam.in.”
