GUWAHATI: As part of Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) nation-wide protest against attacks on doctors and nurses in various states of the country including Hojai district of Assam, the doctors, nurses and staff of Health City Hospital of Guwahati staged a demonstration seeking security and justice.
Holding placards on the hospital premises, the COVID-19 warriors raised their voices against attacks on medical fraternity, stated a press release issued by facility director Parag Jyoti Dutta.
Condemning such attacks, Health City Hospital medical director Dr B P Chakrabarty demanded that the government to ensure security of the medical professionals. He said many doctors and nurses sacrificed their lives in the fight against COVID-19.
Senior consultant of the department of obstetrics and gynaecology Dr Kalpana Choudhury also expressed grave concerns over the rising incidents of attacks on doctors and nurses in the country.
