Haryana announces Rs. 4 crore, Class-I job, land for wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya

Chandigarh: The Haryana government has announced a reward of Rs. 4 crore for wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya who won the silver at the Tokyo Olympics on Thursday. Dahiya will also get a plot of land and a Class-I job in the state government.

Dahiya lost 7-4 to Zaur Uguev of Russian Olympic Committee in the Men’s Freestyle 57 kg wrestling final.

Announcing the reward Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar heaped praise on Ravi Kumar’s game performance.

“Haryana’s son has won the silver medal and I congratulate him on the win. As per Haryana government policy a Class-I job and a land plot in Haryana wherever he wants on 50 percent concession will be given to him. I also announce that in his village Nahri a wrestling indoor stadium will be built. For silver medal, Dahiya will get a cash prize of Rs. 4 crore,” said Khattar.
