GUWAHATI, Dec 30: The Assam Public Works (APW) has once again hit out at former Assam NRC State Coordinator Prateek Hajela, accusing him of being hand in glove with five software firms and including the names of 70-80 lakh “Bangladeshis” in the updated NRC that was published on Aug 31 this year.

“Wipro, Bahniman Systems Private Limited, Medoc Technologies, Trends Technology Solutions and RJ45 Technologies created more than hundred flawed softwares. And it is under the leadership of Prateek Hajela that these five software companies included the names of 70-80 lakh Bangladeshis and made them Indian citizens,” APW director Abhijeet Sarma said after neeting newly-appointed NRC State coordinator Hitesh Dev Sarma in Guwahati today.

The APW director further demanded an enquiry into the matter by a team of IT experts.

Sharma also alleged that Hajela and his confederates were also involved in a massive financial anomaly and had siphoned Rs 100 crore out of Rs 1600 crore fund that was released for the NRC update process.
