GUWAHATI, Dec 22: A 24-year-old bike rider was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a passenger vehicle (Traveller), on National Highway 37 in front of Assam Forest School, Jalukbari on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Pranab Das, a resident of North Guwahati railway colony.
According to Assam Police, Pranab Das was travelling in his Bajaj Pulsar bike (AS01DT-1904) towards Azara and at around 09:25 AM near Assam Forest School a speeding Traveller hit his bike and dragged him for some time.
The Traveller was transporting a picnic party and it fled from the spot after the accident.
The deceased was taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem by the police.
