Guwahati: Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu to arrive in Guwahati on Sunday (October 3). He will participate in a host of events in Guwahati on Sunday.
He will inaugurate the heritage-cum-cultural centre at the old DC Bungalow in Guwahati.
VP Naidu will also confer Assam Government’s biennial Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Award for National Integration and National Contribution at a special function in Guwahati.
In connection with the Vice President Venkaiah Naidu’s Guwahati visit, the Guwahati Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for commuters for October 3 & 4.
The advisory reads: Diversion/Restrictions on the movement of vehicular traffic in connection with the visit of Hon’ble Vice President of India to Guwahati on 3rd and 4th October, 2021. The following restriction and diversions shall be in place for smooth Traffic management at Guwahati city on 3rd and 4th of October, 2021.
1. The movement of all heavy vehicles on the National Highway 37 and 27 shall be restricted from 8 am to 9 pm on 3rd October, and from 5 am to 12 noon on 4th October, 2021.
2. On 3rd October, 2021 no commercial vehicles, Small/Medium/Heavy, shall ply on DG Road, MG Road, FC road, Taybullah road, GNB road, B. Boruah Road , GS Road, Panjabari Road from 6.00 am onwards.
3. On 3rd October, 2021, all kinds of vehicles coming from Bharalumukh side towards Chandmari side will be diverted through Jasawanta Road towards Hem Baruah road and then towards NCB Hall to Chandmari side.
4. All kinds of vehicles coming from Uzanbazar side towards Machkhowa side will be diverted at DC Court point towards Commissioner point to MG road via Hem Baruah road and JC Das Road (Phool gali).
