Dayabhakta Das, a resident of Chapaidang area in Panikhaiti, Guwahati lost his life at the hands of his own son. The grim incident occurred on the night of March 3.
Dayabhakta’s son Prantus Das stands accused of taking his father’s life over an altercation which erupted following victims excessive alcohol consumption.
According to reports, Dayabhakta allegedly assaulted both his wife and son in an inebriated state, following to which Prantus hit his father with an iron rod.
Later, Daybhakata succumbed to his injuries.
Panikhaiti police reached the spot and recovered the body of Dayabhakta and sent it to GMCH, while, the accused son Prantus Das has been arrested.
