Guwahati: Guwahati Police on Wednesday busted a prostitution racket from Datalpara area in the city. Police arrested three young women and three youths for their alleged involvement in the prostitution and drugs trafficking.
The arrested men have been identified as Naseeruddin, Atwar Ali, and Bitu Das. Police seized 20 full containers of drugs and two bikes from their possession.
On the other hand, Guwahati police are continuing their war on drugs.
Following a tip-off, Gorchuk police on Wednesday arrested a drug dealer from ISBT Tinali. The arrested dealer hass identified as Mistal Haque (28) of Jurdanga village of Mankachar.
Police seized about 6 grams of brown sugar filled in 37 plastic containers from the supplier and a four-wheeler bearing registration number AS01 AK 3292, a voter ID card, Aadhaar card, three pan cards, a money bag and a driving license were recovered.
It may be noted that he had purchased the drugs from a youth named Ahmed near Kamakhya Railway Junction.
