Guwahati Police busts six drug rackets in 24 hours

Guwahati: Assam Police has been continuing its war on drugs, and this time within 24 hours they busted a series of drug rackets in different places of Guwahati.

In the latest case, a Central Guwahati Police Department (CGPD) team from Noonmati Police station raided a house and arrested one individual in connection with drug.

The arrested individual identified as Md Rubul Ali. Police seized 7 vials of Heroin, a mobile phone, one silicon paper and Rs.13,000 in cash from his possesion.

In another raid, an East Guwahati Police Department (EGPD) team from Basistha police station raided a rented house at Beharbari and arrested 3 women. Aressted women identified as Arju Begum, Rinkumoni Das and Neera Sahu.

A total of 31 gms of Heroin filled in 22 plastic vials were recovered from their possession.

In similar raid, Giarul Hoque and Sitaram Thakur were arrested by the Dispur Police at two rented houses in Khanapara. They were found with 3.04 kg of cannabis (ganja) and 85 chillums in their possession.

The CGPD along with a team from Noonmati PS and CRPF India personnel of 128 Battalion raided a house at Milijuli Path and arrested 3 persons identified as Md Rekib Amin, Md Monur Uddin Ali, and Md Rubul Ali. The team recovered 20.79 grams of heroin, 4 mobile phones, 6 plastic vials and cash amount of Rs 2,050.

On December 7, a WGPD team from Gorchuk PS detained one Md Samad Ali of Imphal and recovered three soap cases containing 41.69 grams of heroin near Boragaon.
