GUWAHATI: A COVID-19 patient has been discharged from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati on Saturday. The patient has been discharged after testing negative for COVID-19 twice, tweeted Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

With this the number of active cases in Assam has come down to 267. So far 55 people have been discharged from hospitals.
The state has reported a total of 329 COVID-19 positive cases. On Saturday, it witnessed the highest-single-day spike with 70 cases. Majority of the newly-detected patients are the returnees from other states. A large number of people returned to Assam after the relaxations of inter-state transport and partial resumption of passenger train services in the country.
