GUWAHATI: After it has come into light that one barber who used to work near Rajkamal Hotel at Fancy Bazaar in Guwahati tested COVID-19 positive, the government authorities have been searching the clients of the barber who may have come into his contact.
“The people of Guwahati must be careful because a barber has tested COVID-19 positive,” said Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Though the government ordered all the barber shops or salons to remain shut during lockdown, the COVID-19 positive barber carried out his business defying government rules. He was among the 15 new positive cases from Guwahati. All of them are related to another COVID-19 patient Mungu Sahani who tested COVID-19 positive on Monday. Sahani who worked at a potato godown reportedly came into contact with truck drivers carrying potatoes from other states.
