Guwahati: In a relief to the general public who have been waiting for check-ups and other medical requirements at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), the premises will open for the general public from 15 May.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that GMCH will start functioning for the general patients, too, from 15 May.
After Dr. Lithikesh, a post-graduate student of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati tested COVID-19 positive and two boys hostels of the GMCH have been declared as containment zones.
On the other hand, GMCH was closed for new patients in the view of COVID-19 pandemic.
Though the hospital was closed for new patients, special arrangements were made for patients who were already admitted.
