Guwahati, Dec 22: A minor girl who was kidnapped on December 19 from Lakhtokia area of Guwahati has been rescued from Dhubri on Saturday. Police also arrested three men for their alleged involvement in the crime.
According to reports, the 13-year-old girl was kidnapped by the three accused identified as Mohidul Islam, Anisur Rahman and Abdul Kader. Mohidul allegedly kidnapped the minor girl on the pretext of marriage.
Pan Bazar Police had earlier registered a case under section 365 of IPC with case number 882/19 after receiving a formal complaint from family members of the victim.
The District and Sessions Court of Kamrup (M) district, meanwhile, remanded the arrested trio to judicial custody after they were produced in court.
