Guwahati gets ready for 75th Independence Day

Guwahati: Preparations for the 75th Independence Day celebration in the city are being carried out with full force and much enthusiasm at Khanapara Veterinary College field. Personnel from para-military and police are practicing the parade drill on a daily basis.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will hoist the national flag on the 75th Independence Day at  9 AM in Khanapara Veterinary College field on 15 August. 

Security arrangements have also been tightened while the field is being decorated and made ready for ID. As per officials, the preparations will complete on August 14.

On the other hand, the Kamrup district administration has urged the government officials and citizens’  to light diyas at 6.30 pm on the occasion of Independence day.

Celebrating  Independence Day, fruits will be distributed among the prisoners of Guwahati Central Jail,  B Baruah Cancer Institute, TB Hospital, MMCH patients, Jalukbari Orphanage, Bashishta Blind School.
