In a disturbing incident that highlights the persistent menace of drunk driving, a driver under the influence of alcohol caused a major accident by crashing into a divider atop the Chandmari flyover in Guwahati city.
The accident took place on Tuesday night when the driver of the vehicle bearing registration number ‘AS01 EP 4230’ lost control and collided with the divider.
According to sources, the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Due to the accident, the vehicle was damaged, besides causing severe injuries to the driver.
Later, the injured driver was rushed to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for medical treatment.
