Guwahati: A massive fire broke out at a car showroom in Guwahati’s Basistha area in the early hours on Wednesday.
The incident took place at an Isuzu and Benelli showroom on national highway 37 near Basistha.
Around eight fire tenders were rushed to the location to douse the flames.
According to sources, it is suspected that the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit.
Additionally, a cylinder inside the building also caught fire and exploded.
However, the fire was controlled after struggling for a while.
The fire entirely destroyed several cars within the store, causing lakhs in losses.
Meanwhile, several vehicles which was stored in the backside of the showroom were saved due to the quick action of the fire department in bringing the fire under control.
