Guwahati: The Garchuk Police team today at 5:30 AM recovered huge cache of explosive substance and devices from a Mahindra Bolero. The police stopped the speeding vehicle at Garchuk Chariali and apprehended the driver and another occupant in the vehicle.
The Mahindra Bolero bearing registration number AS-15-AC-4867 was travelling at high speed from Lakhra Chari Ali towards Boragaon. The recovered bags of explosive substance and devices were without any documents (Gelatin Sticks 4660 Pcs and Electric Detonators 2300 PCs ).
The apprehended people have been identified as Ainal Ali, age 27 and Rahim Badsha. Age 26, both hailing from Bongaigaon.
Taking to Twitter Guwahati8 Police wrote, “A WGPD patrol party from Gorchuk PS interdicted a huge cache of explosives, including 4660 Gelatin sticks & 2300 electronic detonators today morning, after apprehending a speeding Bolero. Ainal Ali & Rahim Badsha, were arrested with the contraband. Further investigation is on.”
