Guwahati: 430-bed COVID Care Centre at Sarusajai becomes functional

GUWAHATI: Assam has been ramping up facilities to combat the second wave of COVID-19 in the State. Within a short span of time, the health department under the leadership of minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma set up a 430-bed COVID Care Centre at Sarusajai in Guwahati.

The centre has started functioning from Monday. In the evening, health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed the facility and took stock of all the arrangements. He also complimented the team for setting up the centre in a short period of times.

“Pleased to share that a 430 bed Covid Care Centre at Sarusajai has become functional from today. I visited the facility and reviewed all arrangements along with officials. Compliments to the Team for bringing this up in short time,” Dr. Sarma tweeted.

Earlier in the day, the minister said Assam has sufficient numbers of beds, medicines, Oxygen stocks, and ICUs.
