Gunotsav 2022: Celebrations starts from May 11 across Assam

Guwahati: The Assam Government started celebrating Gunotasav 2022 across the state from today with an aim to revive the education sector that has been impacted heavily by COVID-19 and thereby contribute to the development of the students.

The program will be inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The latest edition of Gunotsav will be celebrated in three phases. The next session of Gunotsav after today will be held on May 23 and June 1 respectively in 33 districts.

The mega program will be held in 46,000 educational institutions wherein a total of 42,50,224 students will participate. Moreover, 18,752 external evaluators will also be deployed across the state.

All the Government, provincialized, and Tea garden management schools of elementary and secondary-level will be covered in this Gunotsav program.

Notably, this will be the first Gunotsav post the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to officials of the Assam Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission, the scholastic evaluation will be for Class-I to IX standards. Though the level of Class-I to IX will be assessed, students from II to X will be covered.

Hence students of class II will get question papers from Class-I and so on for the rest of the classes. There will be both self-evaluation and external evaluation.

Evaluation will be two days for each school. On the first day of evaluation, all schools will conduct a self-evaluation.

The external evaluation of the respective schools as per schedule will be done on the respective date of external evaluation.
