GUWAHATI: Addressing a public meeting at Denarong on Thursday, Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed his government’s plan to set up a state university and an engineering college in Karbi Anglong district.
“I want to promise the people—we have two aims. We have to establish a state university and an engineering college in Karbi Anglong,” Sarma said in the unity, peace and development rally which was attended by union home minister Amit Shah.
In his speech, the Assam cabinet minister reiterated his government’s uncompromising zeal for the development of the hill district.
“I feel proud that medical college has been set-up in Karbi Anglong during our tenure. A few days ago, we have started the construction of Bokajan Sub-Divisional Hospital. The works for district hospital already started at Baithalangso in West Karbi Anglong. We have also started construction of a state-of-art cancer hospital at Diphu,” he said.
“This massive public rally is the testimony of the works we have done in the last five years,” Sarma added.
The saga of ‘Unity, Peace & Development’ shall continue!
