GUWAHATI: A youth from Khumtai, Golaghat lost his hand and leg after he was hit by an Oil Tanker Train. The incident happened near Khumtai Model Hospital. The youth has been identified as Bhrigu Gogoi.
Gogoi was walking near the railway tracks connecting Numaligarh Refinery Limited(NRL) with Numaligarh Station when he was hit by a train carrying oil from NRL.
According to reports Gogoi suddenly lost consciousness and fell on the tracks as the train was passing by. Gogoi lost his left hand and right leg in the incident.
Local people immediately took Gogoi to Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital, Golaghat for treatment. Keeping in view of the medical emergency as he had lost his limbs Gogoi was referred to Jorhat Medical College.
