GUWAHATI: Two laboratory technicians who were on duty at a government-run COVID19 hospital in Golaghat, Assam and were also working part-time at Golaghat Nursing Home (private hospital) have tested COVID-19 positive on Monday night. The two were engaged in swab testing work at the COVID19 hospital. They have been identified as Pranjal Bora and Rituraj Tar.
The news of these two getting infected has created a tense atmosphere among the people of the area as they were also reportedly working for the private nursing home. After their detection 5 doctors, 73 health workers, 34 patients and the hospital owner Dr. Chandan Borthakur’s swab have been collected for COVID19 testing. Samples will also be collected from those coming in contact with the patients.
Meanwhile, Golaghat District Administration has declared Golaghat Nursing Home as a restricted area on Tuesday. Entry and exit has been strictly prohibited. It is to be mentioned that 2 Number Kumarpatty area has also been declared as a restricted zone by the authorities.
