Food Park to be set up in Dibrugarh: Rameswar Teli

Guwahati: Minister of state for Food Processing and Industries Rameswar Teli on Thursday announced that a food park will soon be set up in Dibrugarh, Assam.

The announcement was made by the minister while attending the Food-Tech Conclave in Dibrugarh today. He stressed on the need of food processing growth in Northeast region.

The main of reason for setting up these food parks in the entire region is to encourage and support young entrepreneurs.

Dibrugarh’s many young entrepreneurs, bank officials, small scale enterprise owners have shown interest in the food park and the authorities will provide necessary land for the entire project.  

North East Mega Food Park Ltd. (NEMFPL) under Mega Food Park Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Govt. of India is established with the objective of providing adequate infrastructure for the food processing industry along with the value chain from the farm to the market.
