GUWAHATI: The Assam government is going to set up five new medical colleges in the state, announced health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Independence Day programme at Morigaon.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sarma said, “This year we have initiated to establish new medical colleges at Biswanath Chariali, Charaideo, Goalpara and second one in Guwahati. Seventy per cent works for AIIMS at Changsari have been done. We have also started the process of setting up a new medical college at Morigaon.”
In his speech, Dr. Sarma outlined various developmental and welfare shcemes undertaken by the BJP-led government.
