GUWAHATI: A massive fire broke out at Abhayapuri in Bongaigaon district on Saturday night. The fire reduced five houses to ashes at New Piradhara. Properties worth rupees several lakh have been reportedly damaged in the inferno.
“The fire broke out at the residence of Rahijuddin Mandal of Piradhara second part at around 9.45 PM. It was due to electric short-circuit. All the belongings including five houses have been gutted,” said a local resident.
