Guwahati: The Nagaon Police on Sunday evening arrested 6 persons involved in printing of fake currency notes in Samaguri area. A high-tech printing machine, large quantity of fake currency notes, mobile phones and a motorcycle were recovered from the culprits.
Acting on a tip-off the Nagaon Police arrested one Khirod Buragohain who was suspected to be involved in a fake currency racket.
The Assam Police managed to recover a large quantity of fake currency of Rs. 500 denomination and one hi-tech printer.
On the basis of revelation by Khirod Buragohain the Nagaon Police team apprehended five more persons believed to be involved in this racket. Investigations are on and Assam Police is interrogating the arrested persons.
The operation was undertaken by the Additional Superintendent of Police, Nagaon and Nagaon Sadar Police.
