GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch of Assam Police launched an operation and arrested four members of a notorious fake currency gang from the Panjabari area of Guwahati on Sunday.
The four people have been identified as Nazrul Hassan, Afzalur Rahman, Nizamuddin and Hamid Ali. The four have been running the fake currency business in a rented house in Panjabari.
A fake Indian currency printing machine and a total of fake 10 lakh Rupees in cash have been recovered from their possession.
A case has been registered and Guwahati police are investigating the case.
