GUWAHATI, Oct 19: A Diwali bonanza is on the cards for State Government employees with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a video streamed live on social networking site Facebook, said his government is contemplating a Dearness Allowance hike, in line with the Central Government’s 3% increase, in and around Diwali.
The Centre had on Wednesday decided to give away a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA), effective July 1, 2024, to central government employees.
Chief Minister Sarma said State Government employees will also receive a “good news” very soon and will enjoy a hike in line with their central government counterparts.
