GUWAHATI: Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that there is no possibility of delimitation of constituencies in the state before 2021 assembly elections.
“Delimitation cannot take place before this election. It requires constitutional amendment,” Dr. Sarma said.
“It will be required while implementing clause 6 of the Assam Accord. So it is an advanced step to keep the delimitation ready before implementing the clause 6,” Sarma added.
