Delhi government announces early winter break in schools amid severe Air Pollution

The Directorate of Education has ordered advancing of the winter break for all the schools in Delhi in the wake of severe air quality levels prevailing in Delhi. According to the order, the schools can be totally closed from November 9 (tomorrow) to November 18 (Saturday) during which both children and teachers can stay home.

As Delhi continues to register high levels of pollution in its air, Environment Minister Gopal Rai called an urgent meeting to discuss the implementation of the Supreme Court’s observations regarding the odd-even scheme for the vehicles on the roads on of national capital, which will be enforced from November 13 to November 20.

Youtuber Elvish Yadav has been called at Noida’s Sector-20 police station for questioning in the snake venom case. The Noida Police on Tuesday had sent a to Elvish asking him to join the investigation into suspected use of snake venom for rave parties. The police have also applied for remand of the five people who were arrested over the case and sent to judicial custody, an official said.
