COVID-19: With four more fatalities, Assam death toll rises to 105

GUWAHATI: The death toll in Assam due to the COVID 19 pandemic rose to 105 with four more deaths in the State in the past 24 hours.

The four persons who succumbed to the viral infection are Mridula Ghosh (54) of Karimganj, Tilak Chandra Das (50) of Kamrup Metro, Santa Sarkar (62) of Tinsukia and Samir Phukan (52) of Jorhat.

Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Four more #COVID19 patients have succumbed to their infections today~ Late Mridula Ghosh (54) of Karimganj, Late Tilak Chandra Das (50) of Kamrup Metro, Late Santa Sarkar (62) of Tinsukia and Late Samir Phukan (52) of Jorhat. Condolences to their families. Prayers”


Despite the 105 fatalities, Assam still has the lowest mortality rate among all States (excluding smaller States) with only 0.24% of the total infected succumbing to the virus as against a pan-India mortality rate of 2.13%.
