Guwahati: The government of Assam ordered all the schools to close down classes for students till class VIII in Guwahati while in other districts schools will remain closed for students up to Class V from tomorrow due to the sudden surge of COVID-19 positive cases in the state.
While addressing a press meet, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma schools up to Class VIII in Kamrup Metro and up to Class V in other districts to remain closed from tomorrow January 8 to January 30.
The Chief minister also added said that classes from 9 to 11 will be functional in offline mode on rotational basis.
The schools will be closed but online classes will continue for these students.
