GUWAHATI: In a shocker from Assam, COVID-19 patients were witnessed roaming freely in hospital premises in Lakhimpur. COVID patients were seen moving out of their isolation wards from the COVID treatment facility in Telahi.
This has raised apprehensions that the outbreak of the pandemic may take a serious turn as the patients have flouted all the guidelines.
“All medical persons including nurses and doctors present there are afraid because of the incident. We have informed district administration about the incident. They have immediately deployed a rapid action force. Our medical team is afraid to come out and continue their work because of the unruly patients. We will do a counseling session with the patients and administration will help us in carrying out the counseling process. We will have to sanitize the entire area”, said an official.
