GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday visited Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) to stake stock of COVID-19 arrangements in the largest hospital of the state.
The chief minister took updates on 200-bed ICU at GMCH and enquired about the patients’ health.
He also discussed other critical issues with Principal and senior faculty members.
“Also discussed arrangements for deputing doctors at the upcoming 300-bed ICU at Sarusajai
hospital & 200 new ICU beds at GMCH. I’m sure COVID19 positivity & mortality rates would come down soon. Gratitude to doctors & medical staff for their relentless work,” CM Sarma said in a tweet.
