GUWAHATI: As many as 25 passengers have been found COVID-19 positive at Guwahati Railway Station. Most of these passengers travelled from Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal and other states.
“From yesterday till 6 AM today, we have conducted 518 tests. Among them 15 passengers were found positive. From 6AM today, we have conducted 281 tests so far and found 10 persons positive,” said a doctor at the station.
“Most of them were travelling from Maharashtra and West Bengal. They are mostly asymptomatic,” he added.
On the other hand, 22 air passengers were detected COVID-19 positive at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport on Thursday.

On Thursday, Assam recorded 499 fresh COVID-19 cases. Out of the new cases, 255 cases were from Kamrup Metropolitan district.
According to a media bulletin issued by National Health Mission (NHM), in Kamrup Metro, while 142 cases were detected in RTPCR tests, 113 cases were found in antigen tests.
The only fatality in the state on Thursday was reported from Kamrup Metro district.

The state currently has a total of 3,613 active cases, the bulletin said.
It said that 85 patients recovered from the disease on Thursday, taking the total number of cured people to 2,16,284. As the infection was detected in 499 people against the testing of 18,323 samples on Thursday, Assam has reported a positivity rate of 2.72 per cent.
