Coronavirus: Death toll rises to 4 in India, man dies in Punjab

GUWAHATI: India’s fourth Coronavirus death has been reported from Punjab. A Punjab man who died at a civil hospital in Banga in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur on Wednesday died of Coronavirus, reports News18.

The 70-year-old man who returned from Germany via Italy a fortnight ago and died in hospital after severe chest pain, has been found to be positive for novel Coronavirus, senior officials said on Thursday.

This takes to four the total number of deaths in India so far due to Covid-19, with the earlier fatalities reported from Karnataka, Delhi and Maharashtra.

According to reports, the relatives and friends of the Punjab man are also being quarantined. The man’s house has been sealed since Wednesday.

The total number of Coronavirus cases in India is at 169 on Thursday after 18 fresh cases were reported from various parts of the country, according to the Union Health Ministry, reports NDTV.
