GUWAHATI: Congress and Maulana Badruddin Ajmal-led All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) are dreaming like ‘Mungerilal’ to form the government in Assam, alleged Dibrugarh BJP MLA Prasanta Phukan on Friday.
Taking a dig at the two parties, Phukan said that it will be impossible on the part of the Congress-AIUDF alliance to gain the power in the 2021 assembly elections.
“They are dreaming like Mungerilal. We will not leave a single seat to Congress. BJP will not only win the existing seats, we will also win in the constituency of Tarun Gogoi,” the BJP MLA said.
He alleged that the Congress has derailed from its ideology and it will be scrapped.
Hitting out at former chief minister Tarun Gogoi for heading to form an alliance with Badruddin Ajmal’s AIUDF, Phukan said, “The people of Assam gave 50 marks to Tarun Gogoi for asking—‘Who is Badruddin’. Now they will give him minus 50 marks for the alliance with AIUDF.”
