GUWAHATI: “Congress and AIUDF are conspiring to occupy Sonitpur district using suspected nationals,” alleged BJP MLA Padma Hazarika.
Warning AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam for his controversial remarks against Ahom community of Assam, Sootea legislator Hazarika said, “There is a limit to tolerate.”
Addressing a public meeting at Moirabari, Dhing legislator Aminul Islam said, “Ahoms came from Yunnan province of China-Myanmar boder. That province was never a part of India. They came from a foreign land.”
The controversial remarks of the AIUDF MLA has sparked outrage various sections of the society including the Ahom community. Several indigenous organisations protested against Islam’s remarks burning his effigies in different parts of the state.
