CM Sarma invites TATA Motors to manufacture vehicles in Assam

GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday invited TATA Motors to come forward and set up a vehicle production facility in Assam.

Speaking at an inauguration function of a dealership of TATA Motors, Axom Automobiles Private Limited in Guwahati, the chief minister underlined TATA Groups’ long association with Assam. The CM lauded TATA Son’s contribution to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and TATA Trust’s endeavor of setting up 17 cancer hospitals in Assam.

Dr. Sarma said that while automobile industry has been passing through tough times all over globe due to COVID 19 pandemic, opening a new dealership is indeed a bold and courageous move on the part of Dr. Sanjive Narain.

The CM also said that this venture will help the unemployed youths as it will primarily deal with small commercial vehicles.

Also, present at the occasion were Forest and Environment minister Parimal Suklabaidya, Water Resources minister Pijush Hazarika, UDD and GDD minister Ashok Singhal and MLA Naharkatia Taranga Gogoi.
