GUWAHATI/BIJNI: Several people from Bodo community took to the streets at Panbari, Bijni under Chirang district to protest against Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary. The protesters burnt the effigy of Mohilary for his remarks against Bodo Peace Accord.
“It is unfortunate that Hagrama Mohilary has said that he is not accepting the accord.We have burnt the effigy of Mohilary to express our dissatisfaction against his remarks. He is making such remarks just because of politics.” said a local man.
Earlier, Mohilary expressed his disappointment over the Bodo Peace Accord saying that it has only converted BTAD (Bodoland Territorial Area District) to BTR (Bodoland Territorial Region) and has nothing.
